TOURISM: A SOCIO-ECONOMIC PRIORITY FOR INDONESIA

Tourism to Indonesia has increased 8.47 percent over 2010 with most holiday travelers (59 percent) wending their way to Bali; West, Central, and East Java; Jakarta; North Sumatra; Lampung; South Sulawesi; and South Sumatra. Only 38 percent of travelers come to Indonesia with a business agenda.

TO DEAL WITH ASEAN CONNECTIVITY, WE NEED STRONG NATIONAL MARINE INDUSTRY

Indonesia as an archipelago really needed a strong domestic marine industry to connect all sectors in the islands.
“Therefore, the existence of marine sector must be supported in order to accelerate Indonesia’s economic development in transportation sector as stated in MP3EI masterplan,” said the Minister in the opening of  The 37th Annual General Meeting Federation of ASEAN Shipowners Association in Jakarta, Friday (12/09).

MENKO POLHUKAM: NEED TO OVERCOME COORDINATION INTEGRATED MARITIME SECURITY ISSUES

"The issue of maritime security has a legal dimension and the dimension of security. It is therefore necessary that an effective approach to coordination across sectors in dealing with maritime security issues," said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security (Menkopolhukum) Djoko Suyanto in a written speech read out by the Chief Executive Daily Maritime Security Coordinating Board, Vice Admiral TNI Didik Heru Purnomo at the opening of the National Seminar on "Maritime Security and Prosperity To Independence" at Graha Jala Puspita, Jakarta, Thursday (15/12).
